Annual Music Competition
2000 Artist International Music & Dance Association
Disciplines: Piano, Voice, Strings, Woodwinds
Prizes & Awards: 1st Prize: $8,000
2nd Prize: $5,000
3rd Prize: $3,000
Awarded to each disciplines.
*Note: In addition, all finalist will receive $500. There's a total grant of $80,000, plus concert!
Objective:
- To promote the talent of fine young musicians.
- To provide financial assistance for education through competition prizes.
- To offer the winners an opportunity to perform in Canada and North America
Eligibility: The competition is open to young musicians between the ages of 8 to 16 and 16 to 35 years old.
Process: A resume with photo and an application fee of $45 must be mailed to the
Artist International Music & Dance Association, #1 Bowan Court North York, Toronto, ON M2K 3A8
Canada. All application materials and application fee must be received on or before July 31, 2000. Residents outside of Toronto are permitted to send an audition tape
with three contrasting pieces that best display their talent. Successful candidates will be invited to the semifinals and
finals competition that will be held from September 5 to 11, 2000 in Toronto Canada.
The panel of adjudicators comprises of renowned artists from the Canadian and United States of America musical
community.
All prize winners and special awards will be announced following the performance on the Finale Concert.
Winners will perform live at the North York Ford Centre for the Performing Arts in the upcoming concert in late September of this
year. Selected winners may have the additional opportunity to perform throughout Canada and other countries.
